The biography of one of the most exceptional bullfighters in pre-civil war Spain: Ignacio Sanchez was fighter, businessman, playwright actor and supporter of the Sevillan poet circle "Generation 27" whose most prominent memeber was Federico Garcia Lorca. In 1934, he died young in the bullfighting arena and becam a legend - thanks to Federico Garcia Lorca's homage to him in the poem "Llanto por Ignacio Sanchez Mejias". Using rare archive footage in a spectacular way, the film is a stunning and high-quality portrait of an intellectual bullfighter who was not like any other.
